The Republic of Haiti is the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, and yet, it is also one of the most loving, despite the fact that a majority of individuals subsist on only one to two dollars per day. I was gridlocked on I-95 southbound when I learned of the Haitian tragedy earlier this week. I was simultaneously overwhelmed and heart-broken, not to mention the fact that I have cousins, aunts, and uncles who reside in Haiti.
As part of the massive relief effort, I have personally committed to assisting Haiti for five consecutive years, in addition to setting up on-campus, drop boxes at the School of Business for students, and faculty and staff members, who wish to donate items for shipment to Haiti. I am also working closely with the Buisness, Political, and community leaders.
